PELMO D’ORO PRICE TO MARCO PAOLINI

In the multifunctional room of Serauta, Belluno district administration will deliver, in front of the press, the price “Pelmo d’Oro” for Alpine culture to actor Marco Paolini. Mr Paolini won the television Oscar for best program of the year, thanks to his “Il Racconto del Vajont” in 1997. He has always been accurate in verifying the sources he found. Born in Belluno in 1956, he is master in a measured research of the laugh, which is never an end unto itself, but a basis for reflection.

22nd June 2019 – Funivia Marmolada – Move To The Top

OPENING OF THE CABLE CAR AND CONCERT AT HIGH ALTITUDE

Marmolada cable car will open again the doors of its cabins for a Summer rich in cultural and other events. A truly beasy calendar, which enriches the already wide offer of Marmolada. “Nature, Sport, Culture” will be the highlight of this Summer 2019. Punta Rocca will be the centre of many different sport events, but the importance of the landscape that you can enjoy from the panorama terrace; of the religious culture, represented by the Grotto of the Holy Mary; and the secular one, represented by the photo exhibition about the construction of the cable car is undeniable. Serauta will be again the real cultural centre with an exhibition about healthcare during WWI, and obviously with the Museum of the Great War (Museo Marmolada Grande Guerra 3000 m) and with the Sacred Monumental Area.

At 11.30, for the opening of the cable car, there will be a concert of three different choirs, well-known worldwide: “Schola Cantorum” from Rome, “Coro Maurizio Carta” from Oristano and “Choeur Pense’es” directly from Japan. The event is part of a week of concerts organised for the Dolomiti CorinFestival 2019, an event at its 6th edition, which will take place from June, 17th to June, 23rd. In particular, the concert on Marmolada will see this three choirs dislocated in different points of the cable car, singing songs coming from all over the world, during this celebration of music, multiculturality and internationality.

“LIMITLESS – GIVE ME A FOOTHOLD AND I’LL CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN”

Already during the past Winter, Marmolada Srl decided to begin a new project, dedicated to the accessibility of Marmolada mountain and cable car. On July, 23rd, we organised an event in partnership with Assi Onlus and with the patronage of Fondazione Dolomiti Unesco, which will have as protagonist Oscar De Pellegrin, multi-medal winner at the Olympic Games from 2000 to 2012, who will climb by cable car up to Punta Rocca, showing the total absence of architectural barriers. The other protagonist of the event is Moreno Pesce, trans-femoral amputated, who as the same time will cross the glacier trying to conquer Punta Penia with the help of a mountain guide. At the end of this “expedition”, both the athletes will meet various institutions and authorities in a round table entitled “Accessibility and limits. SUNSET IN JAZZ

“My Real Book” band will bring the jazz culture on Marmolada for this extraordinary event at sunset. Born in cotton fields, cultivated by Afro-Americans still enslaved by the big white landowners, jazz was used to give rhythm to the harvest. It’s not only a type of music, but also a culture, which will bring us back in time to the Twenties in US, to the prohibitionist period, to the enslavement of Afro-Americans, to the roaring years of the rebirth after WWI.

26th August 2019 – Punta Rocca

40 YEARS OF PRAYER – HOLY MASS TO REMEMBER THE VISIT OF POPE JOHN PAUL II

Traditional Holy Mass to remember the visit of Pope John Paul II in the Grotto of the Holy Mary in Punta Rocca station. The event is even more important this year, because of the 40th anniversary since the visit of Pope Woytjla and because of a surprise, which will be unveiled after the religious celebration.
